Phuket - The Lifestyle

Phuket is the largest island in Thailand and is a great tourist destination. The island is well connected with an international airport and receives thousands of tourists every year. Phuket happens to be the wealthiest province of Thailand and because of that it has the greatest infrastructure in Thailand. Be it roads or excellent hospitals. A lot of foreigners have made Phuket their home because of the ‘western’ comforts it has to offer at a very affordable price and a very vibrant and youthful atmosphere. Real Estate market

The Phuket real estate market is very developed when it comes to catering to foreigners. This is because a large number of foreigners are already dwelling here and a lot of housing projects are carried out by foreign companies which lead to high maintenance and development standards.


Phuket Villas are a popular choice with up-market foreigners and would typically comprise of around four bedrooms, private swimming pool, gardens and a mountain or a sea view. The more expensive villas would range at around 40 million baht whereas the villas would start at around 13 million baht.


Foreigners who cannot afford a villa typically go for a Phuket Condo. A Phuket condo would be less expensive than a villa however would give you all of the same amenities. However things like swimming pools and gyms would be shared facility, they would still be quite exclusive. Phuket Condos are mostly concentrated in Patong and Karon areas which are more developed and have a dense foreign population. The laws regarding the purchase of a condo in Phutek is also more amenable when compared to buying villas. Thai law allows up to 49% ownership in Condos and foreigners find it easiest to buy Condos here. There are several price ranges in which you would find condos and if you have a budget of around 14 million baht you are sure to have a lot many choices.

Recreational Activities

The night life in Phuket is the high point of the lifestyle and the nightclubs, bars and discos attract thousands of tourists every year. Other things of interest are Thai Kickboxing, Phuket Fantasia which is a theatrical extravaganza and the Simon Cabaret. These are all popular activities with the tourists and foreigners living in the area.

Restaurants, Shopping & Travel

There are a wide variety of restaurants in Phuket because of its great popularity as a tourist destination. You would get a lot of options for authentic food here and there are a lot of restaurants catering especially to foreign tourists who are missing their home cuisines.
You would find American, British, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Irish and Indian restaurants which are owned and maintained by people from those countries and therefore offer a great outlet if you are missing your home.


Phuket is a shopper’s paradise as it caters to shoppers of all tastes and budgets. You would be lost in the open air food markets, night markets, street stalls, local shops and western patterned departmental stores and malls. The night life is very alive in Phuket with a lot of bars and discos brimming with foreigners, tourists and locals.

The vibrant atmosphere and the prosperity of the region mean that foreigners can feel right at home staying at Phuket. Language is never a problem and the great shopping and night life make it a really attractive destination for people in the western world to buy a second house in Phuket or make it their getaway every once in a while.
